Acer tasked us with creating an unforgettable experience for PAX West showcasing its Predator gaming hardware. The catch: they didn’t purchase a physical booth space, so the whole experience had to be tied to posters and flyers at the event. We devised an augmented reality scavenger hunt that took place on the show floor. Players had to find all four Predator-themed posters in the show hall, each containing a completely unique augmented reality game that scored winners one entry into a sweepstakes to win the ultimate gaming battlestation.
My team developed a unique, completely appless and browser-based augmented reality technology to break down barriers and ensure that our entire audience could access the fun. And the event was so successful, they asked us to use the tech to develop new games to deploy at several subsequent gaming events.
