Digital Screen Replacement

One thing is always true in modern video production: always film the device screen blank. The best way to ensure that the screens remain flexible in post is to film a device with a tracking marker, or blank, and composite the final screen later. These digital screens must be seamless and leave the viewer with no question that the screen is definitely real, despite the fact that it’s added at the last stage of post production. My process for replacing screens is painstaking and thorough, and with over two hundred screens replaced to date, I feel like I’m starting to nail it.
