My work for Acer Consumer and Predator Gaming has included a wide variety of animations for Acer’s social media channels. I start with a 3D model from the client (usually a CAD file for fabrication) and create a simplified 3D form which includes only the details the camera needs to see. This process requires substantial retopologizing due to the incredibly high poly count of these production meshes. Then, using photographic reference, I carefully create node-based materials that capture as close to the realism of the product as possible. Finally, I apply lighting, animation, render in Octane and output final composited masters from After Effects.
